  • The bracket on the front of the V-Drive will serve two purposes.
  • First it will be the anchor for the Parachute equipped jacket(s).
  • The second purpose is to serve as a mounting point for the intercom cables.
  • A Rugged Radios Dual Jack Mount will be installed once it arrives.
  • Using the V-Drive as the attachment point instead of the seat bracket allows the seat configuration to be changed without involving the intercom cables.
  • The Enderle Pre-pump filter is equipped with a shut-off valve that does not have a detent. This bracket was fabricated th hold the valve in the on position.
  • The battery was upgraded to an Optima AGM type.
  • This battery is smaller and allows better access to the fuel and bilge pumps.
  • The new battery restraint is minimal and is less likely to cause a short.
  • Much effort has gone into completing the main wiring system. Now it's time to fabricate an under dash accessory bar.
  • A panduit wiring duct is used behind a 1-1/2" aluminum pipe to keep the wiring organized. Components are mounted to the pipe using the RAM mount system.
  • Rugged Radio 660 VOX Intercom with Push to Talk 2-Way communication with support team.
  • Butterfly dash includes PTT button as well as engine temp and oil emergency lights. Suction mounted Drift HD camera will be used to record the action including intercom audio.
  • RAM mount under tach will hold smart phone for GPS speedometer.
  • Parachute Release lever bracket and pivot completed and fit confirmed.
  • Orientation is from horizontal to 45deg up for release.
  • Operation is expected to be with left hand
  • Could likely be operated with right hand with overhand cross reach.
  • A locking pin is planned to avoid accidental discharge when not racing.
  • Here's a closer look at the assembly before installation.
  • Notice the Lockout has been added.
  • Stroud Safety #402 Boat Chute
  • No new holes in the boat. There will ultimately be 4 new holes in the transom plates to secure the Chute Anchor as first suggested on Dec 13, 2018 slide show.
  • Remove before flight. The small lock will be replaced by release cable to be installed next.
  • A closer look at seat brackets
  • All fasteners are located symmetrically.
  • A 1/2" plate is used on the driver side to counter the grab bar.
  • Spacers are used to elevate the final mounting plate to facilitate seat adjustability.
  • The grab handle is fastened to the stringer with seat bracket holes and one existing forward hole.
  • The two versions of the seat mounting plate will fasten to this base bracketry, Dual seat and single seat.
  • Shown here is the double seat mouning plate
  • Slots in the mounting plate allow the seats to be adjusted to eliminate rub.
  • 1/8" plate is used inside to seat bucket for strength.
  • Mounting slots provide 1-1/2" of adjustment side to side.
  • Final placement of seats.
  • No rub on gelcoat.
  • Clearance with Casale V-Drive.
  • The race version of the seat mounting plate is now complete. This allows a single seat to be centered on the steering colum.
  • It takes only about 15 min. to switch from single to double seats.
  • The weight of the driver is still off center which helps ot counter the torque of the engine.
  • Passenger grab handle will likely be left in place even in this configuration just to minimize effort to switch back and forth
  • The single seat is 2" forward of the double seat setup due to clearance requirements for the Casale v-drive.
  • New seat brackets have been fabricated to allow seats to be adjusted from side to side to achieve correct clearance.
  • Seats are now 2" aft of original position to provide more cockpit space.
  • The seat brackets inclule a plate that transverses the stringers. A race version is in the works that will allow a single seat to be centered on the steering colum.
  • A grab handle has been added on the passenger side.
